In 2009, a group of seven came up with the idea to recycle vegetable oil gathered from local restaurants in a garage to create biodiesel to fuel their cars and establishing the Cincinnati Biodiesel Initiative. This groundbreaking design reduces harmful fuel emissions, while being extremely economical. With great ingenuity they have been able to “power a small fleet” already. Fuel Cincinnati supports their goals to grow and one day meet the demand they have encountered for the renewable, environmental, and economical alternative to petroleum. We provided a grant to the team to purchase processing equipment, improve their facility, and fund their mission.
