Kicks for Hope: Developing Future Leaders in Low Income Communities through Soccer
Drawing inspiration from South Africa’s goal in the beginning of the World Cup in 2010, Kicks for Hope strives to create unity and a positive impact within Cincinnati’s Over the Rhine and Covington, Kentucky. Kicks for Hope works to provide uniforms, training, teams, and a place for lower income children to develop their soccer and leadership skills. Older children can be a part of Kicks for Hope, as it encourages young leaders to participate in captains programs, community development, and a volunteer program. The initiative has partnered with Kings Soccer Academy out of Wilder, KY to offer equipment and training to those showing great potential and a love of the game. Kicks for Hope’s ultimate goal is to create positive peer pressure in lower income neighborhoods and inspire youths to pursue develop goals and lead positive lives.
